Gatlinburg Pittman Lady Highlanders Defeat Gibson County, Advance to 2A Final Four

The Gatlinburg Pittman Lady Highlanders defeated Gibson County on Wednesday afternoon inside the "Glass House" Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University 60-55, to advance to their third straight "Final Four" appearance. The Lady Highlanders came out with a sluggish start, shooting a woeful 1-15 from the floor, to trail the Pioneers by 12 after the first quarter at 15-3. After a much better second quarter, the Lady Highlanders found themselves down by 10 heading into the half at 26-16.

Gibson County's lead eventually grew to 16 before the Lady Highlanders, would get hot in the third quarter powered by seniors Addi Wear and 2A Miss Basketball Maliyah Glasper to bring them within 3 as the third period would close 46-43. Some clutch three point baskets from JR Cheyenne Byrd would give the Lady Highlanders the lead, as they would hold on to claim the victory 60-55. Gatlinburg Pittman will next face Huntingdon in the 2A State Semi-Final "Final Four" on Friday at 11cst.
